Of all the lower cost or discount electric dog training collars or shock collars the Sport Dog brand is perhaps the best made and the best value.
I first found the Sport Dog shock collars online and was a bit skeptical. Their prices seemed too low to indicate quality so I was suspicious. Their collars were in the low to mid $100's whereas most collars of high quality were in the $200's. That to me was a red flag.
When I used the Sport Dog collar for the first time I was actually quite impressed. Their e-collar features all the necessary features you would find in a higher priced collar. Their collars feature various levels of stimulation, a momentary button, and a button for continuous stimulation.
Even though the Sport Dog shock collar has the necessary features it is not my first choice for an electric collar. It has a more 'flimsy' feel than a higher quality collar such as a Dogtra or Tri-Tronics. Even though I have not used one for long enough to judge its durability I imagine that because of its feel that it would not last as long as some other brands.
